Why Latino Consumers?

The U.S. Latino population is the largest and fastest growing ethnic group in the United States.  In both size and spending power, the Latino community represents a significant consumer for businesses large and small.

According to 2010 U.S. Census data, there are approximately 50.5 million Latinos in the United States, accounting for 16% of the total population. Between 2000 and 2010, the Latino population increased by 15.2 million, or 43 percent, and accounted for over half of the 27.3 million increase in total U.S. population.

Yet that only begins to tell the picture.  With a relatively young population, and proportionately more Latinos either entering the workforce for the first time or moving up the career ladder, Latino consumers’ spending power is on the rise.

According to the Selig Center for Economic Growth, Latino consumer buying power will grow from $1 trillion in 2010 to more than $1.5 trillion by 2015. Latino consumers will literally impact every aspect of our nation’s landscape, from politics and pop culture to Latino oriented and American made brands.
